ATV Pro MX Championship Finale This Weekend at Loretta Lynn Ranch

Aug. 12, 2010 By Press Release
Hurricane Mills, TN (August 12, 2010)- The 2010 ITP Tires/Moose Racing AMA ATV Motocross Championship Presented by Parts Unlimited is headed to the famous Loretta Lynn Ranch. This event, known as ATV Dirt Days, marks round eleven, the final round of AMA Pro Racing as well as AMA National Amateur Racing, and also the final round of the North Challenge. Josh Creamer of Rockstar Makita Suzuki continues to lead the points, and is just one moto away from sealing the 2010 championship. Creamer leads by 40 points over his teammate and two-time defending champion, Dustin Wimmer. The 2010 Championship will be decided by the final two motos of racing, and the 2010 champion will be crowned this weekend.

The highly competitive Suzuki teammates Josh Creamer and Dustin Wimmer have been battling all season long, and these riders would maintain first and second in points even if they didn't race this upcoming weekend. Creamer has had a season that most riders dream of. Finishing top 3 overall every round this season was just part of what made this year so successful for the rider. Creamer rode each race with a level of maturity we didn't see from the rider last year, and put him in position to become the 2010 Champion.

Impossible is not a word that Dustin Wimmer wants to hear right now. Sitting 40 points behind Creamer, Wimmer has to win both motos to even be in contention for the championship. For most riders, being second in points would be a dream come true, but for Wimmer, it's just not first. The two time defending champion has just two more motos to defend the title.

Motoworks Can-Am rider Chad Wienen and Baldwin Motorsports/ PEPS Josh Upperman are now tied for third place in points. Both riders want that third place overall badly. Wienen has struggled this season with some bad crashes and mechanical failures, but has been able to come back strong in the second part of the year. Upperman is still considered a new comer to the pro class, but after this season, he's an established front runner. Upperman earned his first career overall win this year, and despite a few mechanical issues, has had the best season of his career.

The event takes place at the legendary Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN. Not only is the facility owned by the world famous 'Coal Miners Daughter', but it is also the oldest race on the ATV National Circuit. The motocross track holds only three races per year, including the AMA Amateur Nationals for motorcycles, as well as a Grand National Cross Country event, and of course the final round of racing for America's Largest ATV Racing Series, ATV Motocross.

Tickets on Sunday are $15 for fans ($10 for ages 5-11), and admission includes full pro pit access, and an autograph session.

The pro class will feature two 20-minute races on Sunday, taking place at noon and 3 p.m., with the combined scores of both races determining the overall winner.

The pro riders will run as part of a full schedule of amateur racing, including classes for Youth, Women and veteran riders. Amateurs will practice on Friday and race on Saturday and Sunday. Pros will practice on Saturday and race on Sunday.

To get to the track from Nashville, take I-40 West 70 miles to Exit 143. Turn right and follow Route 13 North 7 miles to the Ranch on the left. For more information log on to http://www.atvmotocross.com/.
